Dance Movie Screenings

Since 2021 Garage has had two seasons of open air movie screenings in the Nama-Khoi communities. The idea was kickstarted by a need to give the locals access to Byron’s Movie “Gat innie Grond, Wond in my Siel” in which many of them appeared. Subsequently all three of Garage’s dance films have been screened in Bulletrap, Kamp Vier, Die Kas, Matjieskloof, Skietbank, Snoektown, Sonop, Xhouboegas en Xhouroep. Giving access to the arts to folk who do not have the financial means or transport to attend regular paid for performances in conventional venues.
